About 2 months ago we put an attorney on retainer to file chapter 13. Since then we have not heard from our attorney as they are extremely busy with all the bankruptcy filings going on now. We have not filed yet as the attorney has not finished up the paperwork. Today we found out that my husband has lost a significant amount of his income..$800…per month. I realize that the court figures your payment off your last 6 months income, but our income is different now. Can we wait to file for another 6 months in order for his change in income to take place? Or can they figure that loss now, even though we have had that income for the last 6 months. We left a message for our attorney, but they are very slow getting back with us. Any help or personal experience someone has will be helpful.
